Hot Switchel Cocktails and Mocktails

Switchel Hot Toddy

Makes 1 drink

INGREDIENTS
1 cup of hot Superior Switchel (any flavor tastes great!)
1 bag of black tea
2 ounces of whiskey (for cocktail)
2 teaspoons of honey
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1 slice of lemon

INSTRUCTIONS
Heat 1 cup of any flavor of Superior Switchel.
Place hot Superior Switchel, whiskey (for cocktail), honey, and tea bag in a mug.
Let steep for 3 minutes, then remove tea bag.
Add lemon juice and garnish with a lemon slice.

Mulled Switchel Cider

Makes 4 drinks

INGREDIENTS
16 ounces of Honey Cinnamon Superior Switchel
16 ounces of apple cider
3 sticks of cinnamon
5 cloves
4 cardamom pods, pressed until they crack open
1/4 teaspoon coriander seed
1/2 star anise pod
2-4 ounces of brandy (for cocktail)

INSTRUCTIONS
Heat a pan over medium heat and add spices. Toast the spices, stirring frequently, until fragrant. Coriander seeds should begin to darken.
Add Superior Switchel and cider to the pan.
Simmer for about 30 minutes or until spices are infused.
Strain mixture into a heatproof pitcher to remove spices.
Add brandy if desired.
Divide into heatproof glasses and serve.

Switchel Hot Ward 8

Makes 8 drinks

INGREDIENTS
For the Oleo-Saccharum
Zest from 2 lemons
Zest from 1 orange
130 grams of sugar

For Cocktails:
16 ounces of hot Orange Maple Splash Superior Switchel
16 ounces rye whiskey
2 ounces unsweetened pomegranate juice
2 ounces of orange liquor
8 dashes Angostura bitters

For Mocktails:
16 ounces of hot Orange Maple Splash Superior Switchel
2 ounces unsweetened pomegranate juice
8 dashes Angostura bitters

INSTRUCTIONS
Create the Oleo-Saccharum:
In a heatproof bowl, combine lemon zest, orange zest, and sugar.
Muddle for 30 seconds.
Cover and leave at room temperature for about 6 hours.

Create your Cocktail or Mocktail:
Pour rye whiskey (for cocktail), 16 ounces of hot Orange Maple Splash Superior Switchel, pomegranate juice, orange curacao (for cocktail), and bitters over the oleo-saccharum.
Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer and serve in heatproof glasses.

Switchel Cocktails and Mocktails Over Ice

Classic Switchel Palmer

Makes 1 drink

INGREDIENTS
2 oz. Lavender Lemon Lift Superior Switchel
4 oz. Brewed black tea (try a local favorite, like Empowered Tea)
Juice of ½ lemon
Ice to serve
Lemon slices to garnish
Fresh mint (for garnish)
Fresh rosemary (for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS
Stovetop brew your favorite black tea, according to package directions. Let cool or refrigerate until set.
Combine all ingredients into a mason jar.
Add ice and stir.
Garnish with lemon slice and herbs (optional).

Zesty Orange Switchel with Lime

Makes 1 drink

INGREDIENTS
3 oz. orange juice
5 oz. Orange Maple Splash Superior Switchel
Juice of ½ lime
Orange slices
Fresh basil (for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a copper mug (or any glass).
Add ice and stir.
Garnish with orange slice and basil (optional).

Blackberry Mint Lemon Switchel

Makes 1 drink

INGREDIENTS
3 oz. orange juice
5 oz. Lavender Lemon Lift Superior Switchel
¼ cup blackberries
1 tbsp. maple syrup
Juice of ½ lemon
2 fresh mint leaves
2 fresh lemon verbena leaves or lemon balm
Optional: fresh basil (for garnish)

INSTRUCTIONS
Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
Strain through mesh bag or fine strainer.
Refrigerate for 15 – 20 minutes to set the flavor.
Add ice and serve in a mason jar!

Switchel Sunrise Cocktail

Makes 1 drink

Add 2 oz of Blood Orange Juice, 1 shot of Revel Spirits Avila (or Tequila), and the juice of ¼ lime to a glass with ice
Top with 6 oz Orange Maple Superior Switchel and stir
Pour over ice and garnish with orange slice

Switchel Mule Cocktail

Makes 1 drink

Place 1 shot of Skaalvenn Vodka, 2 shots hard dry cider, and 3 drops of Worcestershire sauce in a glass with ice
Top with Cinnamon Honey Superior Switchel and stir
Serve with an apple slice and cinnamon stick

Switchel Mojito

Makes 1 drink

Place 10 mint leaves and 1 lime wedge in a glass and muddle
Add two more lime wedges and fill with ice
Add 1 shot of Norseman White Rum
Top with 8 oz of Lavender Lemon Superior Switchel and stir
Garnish with remaining lime wedge

Apple Delight Mocktail

Makes 1 drink

Add 2 oz of apple cider and 6 oz of Honey Cinnamon Superior Switchel to a glass with ice and stir
Garnish with thinly sliced apple and a dash of cinnamon

Superior Switchel Smoothies

Tropical Mango Smoothie

Makes 1 smoothie

Combine in blender until smooth:
1 cup Orange Maple Superior Switchel
1 cup frozen mango chunks
½ tablespoon of honey
½ frozen banana
1 tablespoon of vanilla protein powder

Lavender and Strawberry Spice Smoothie

Makes 1 smoothie

Combine in blender until smooth:
1 cup of Lavender Lemon Superior Switchel
1 cup of whole frozen strawberries
½ frozen banana
1 tablespoon of vanilla protein powder
1 teaspoon of honey

Honey Cinnamon Ginger Smoothie

Makes 1 smoothie

¾ cup Honey Cinnamon Superior Switchel
1 tablespoon of vanilla protein powder
½ frozen banana
½ teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of honey
1 small apple, chopped (without the core)
1 cup of ice cubes
Top with a cinnamon stick

Switchel-based Dinner and Dessert

Drunken Chicken

INGREDIENTS
1/2 Shot Whiskey
8 oz of Honey Cinnamon Kick Superior Switchel
2 Tsp Honey
1 Tsp Olive Oil
2 Cloves Minced Garlic
Pinch of Cayenne Pepper
Pinch of Salt
Pinch of Pepper
2 Chicken Breasts

INSTRUCTIONS
Mix Ingredients Together
Marinate Chicken in Mix for 24 Hours
Preheat Oven to 375 Degrees Farenheight
If Needed, Add More Honey on Top Prior to Baking
Bake in Oven for About 15 Mins, or Until Cooked Through

Grilled Peaches with Amaretto Sauce

INGREDIENTS
2 Peaches
1/2 Cup Superior Switchel
2/3 Cup Heavy Whipping Cream
1 Tsp Almond Extract
4 Tbsp Butter
1 Tsp Brown Sugar
2 1/3 Tbsp Disaronno

INSTRUCTIONS
Cut peaches in half and soak, flesh down in Superior Switchel for at least 20 mins
Grill peaches, flesh down for 5-10 mins
Melt butter, brown sugar and Disaronno in sauce pan
Add almond extract to whipping cream. Use electric mixer to whip until stiff
Plate with sauce on bottom and cream on top
Note: Cream melts quickly
